Temple Visit Information

There are two ways to visit Shogo-in Monzeki: free admission for worship and paid admission for viewing the temple.
During special public openings, no reservation is required, and visitors can view special exhibitions and treasures that are not usually on display.

October: 11 (Sat)–13 (Mon), 17 (Fri)–19 (Sun), 21 (Tue)–26(Sun), 31 (Fri).
November: 1 (Sat)–3 (Mon), 7 (Fri)–9 (Sun), 14 (Fri)–16 (Sun), 21 (Fri)–24 (Mon)
December: 5 (Fri)–7 (Sun).
Total: 29 days.

Viewing Hours:	10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Last entry)
Admission:	Adults: ¥800 (Groups of 15 or more: ¥700) Junior high & high school students, University students: ¥600 Free for elementary school children and younger (must be accompanied by a guardian) *Cash payment only

Access from Major Locations

From Kyoto Station: - Take Kyoto City Bus Route 5 or 206, and get off at either "Kumano Jinja-mae" or "Shogo-in-mae" bust stops. From there, it is about a 3-minute walk.【Around 35 minutes】

From Keihan Gion Shijo Station: - Take the Keihan Main Line bound for Demachiyanagi and get off at Jingu-Marutamachi Station. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk. 【Around 20 minutes】

Getting to Kyoto from Across Japan

From TOKYO Haneda Airport (HND): - From Kansai International Airport or Itami Airport, travel to Kyoto using the access method from Osaka. 【Around 1 hour and 10 minutes】

From TOKYO Tokyo Station: - Take the JR Tokaido/Sanyo Shinkansen “Nozomi” (bound for Shin-Osaka).
- Get off at Kyoto Station.【Around 2 hours and 15 minutes】

From CHIBA Narita Airport (NRT): - From Kansai International Airport or Itami Airport, travel to Kyoto using the access method from Osaka.【Around 1.5 hours】

From OSAKA Osaka Itami Airport (ITM): - Limousine Bus (Hankyu Kanko Bus)
- Get off at Kyoto Station.【Around 1 hour】

from OSAKA Kansai International Airport (KIX): - From Kansai International Airport Station, take the JR Kansai Airport Limited Express “Haruka” bound for Kyoto. Get off at Kyoto Station.【Around 1 hour and 20 minutes】
